I'm going to use an 89 carb used with an egr valve till i can do the rebuild on the original. the vacuum routing and wiring is not the same and need help getting things hooked up right, there isn't a vacuum port on the float chamber and i need to know where to connect the sub-advance hose to the distributor. could also use a wiring diagram for the 89 carb to swap wires from the gray connector to the white one heres the diagram for my carb sub-advance hose vacuum routing for the 89 carb vacuum routing for my car

hope i've got things hooked up right... wired the harness red to red, black to black, etc. used solder so i could remove it later without any more cutting. connected the sub advance line to the vacuum port in the middle at the base of the carb plugged vacuum port on the float chamber

you can find the anti-diesel switch and vent solenoid valves for Hitachi carbs on rockauto parts listed under: SUBARU--> 1987--> JUSTY--> 1.2L L3 --> Fuel/Air --> Fuel Shutoff Solenoid

I have everything cleaned and put back together again. Not as hard as i thought it would be, made a few mistakes though.... 1. Flipped the float chamber over and didn't see where all the parts that came out went to, had to read Dunks post again to find where they go. 2. Stripped out a screw and one of the air bleeds and said some words..... 3. Snapped the black piece off the duty solenoid valve. 4, Pulled the plug on the throttle adjustment screw and counted 5 1/2 full turns still need to do the vacuum break and interlock of the throttle valve adjustments, but i cant make sense of the instructions. If the brass screw/bleed wont turn, stop, gently tap all sides and the top with a screw driver and try again.... my float chamber the choke chamber this is what comes in the rebuild kit from rock auto (not the DL model kit) i made the wiring harness a bit longer. used heat-shrink wrap and zip ties (the other claw hammer was "borrowed" and broken) pictures of my 88 and 89 carbs side by side..... '88 on top, 89 carb secondary throttle side has a port on the back for vacuum, this is plugged in the 88 carb 88 carb on the left choke chamber, 88 carb on top topside of the choke chamber, '88 on top with choke/heater thingy removed

I couldn't figure out the vacuum break either. I think you are supposed to bend the pawl on the inside of the auto choke housing that catches the spring. I'm not sure how to set it though. For the throttle valve interlocks, I think it means that the linkages should make contact when the primary is open 47 degrees. There is still allot of travel before the secondary starts to open, but there is no way to adjust it that far. It seems to me that the adjustment plate is non adjustable. Hopefully someone smarter can clarify.
