What if your EF12 died, and you had a complete Rex around for parts? According to Wikipedia, the EF12 is based on the EK23 but with one cylinder more, should be doable right?

Man it would be so much better to go the other way...swap in a 3 cylinder where there was a 2! into the REX. Putting in the smaller 2 cylinder is not going to be all that easy.. not sure the bell housing bolt pattern and diameter is the same size, I know the starter is in a different location. It would be better to put in the EF12 with the 5 spd trans from the Justy, rather than the 4spd from the REX. But now it is going to be a tight fit as the REX is about 100mm narrower. Drive shafts would be different lengths and the mounts are in different places, not going to be a bolt in I would say!
