You are from USA right? I will try rock auto... And I think you need head gasket set too. The guide you have find is for some VW... I'm not sure what exactly means universal fitment but seems it is universal for VW...

I agree with Mato. Rockauto.com has the intake and exhaust valves for about $7 or $8 each. Get a head gasket while you're there. Unless you know when the timing belt was last replaced, you might want to consider replacing the timing belt and pulleys, since that's coming off for the job too.
I have a '91 Justy, fuel injected, so it's a little different from your '88. Mine has 2 intake valves and one exhaust valve per cylinder. My justy says "3 Valve" right on the valve cover. If yours says the same, you definitely have the same arrangement. If not, you can take the valve cover off very easily and see how many you have of each.
That would mean you would need 6 intake valves and 3 exhaust valves if you're replacing all of them.

Alright, I compared the part numbers you linked to versus what I find on RockAuto. The part numbers for the intake and exhaust valves are correct. You're looking at DNJ Components part numbers IV705 (intake) and EV705 (exhaust). Those are the same part numbers as for my '91 Justy, so I'd say the number of valves would be the same as well. Definitely buy them from RockAuto though instead of JC Whitney. I see the valves on JC Whitney are $23 each. You'll pay one third that price on RockAuto.

its 3 valves per hole. 2 intake one exhaust.
6 intake
3 exhaust
and you need a matching number of guides and seals. If you have some miles on the car consider new valve springs too. those to wear.
does anyone know if the valve bowls are replaceable on these cars or if they are cast into the head?
