I have some problems with rear strut mounts long long time ago... On my parts car has one broken for long time and I have find out second side have it swapped for some Ford one (I saw Ford logo on it when parting out suspension). My part dealer got just one aftermarket part on list for this car and it costs some 75€... I think original by Subaru are cheaper... So I have searched on car part web-stores for something similar for Fords, what was used in my parts car. First I have looking for rear strut mounts and nothing... Than on one page where front and rear strut mounts are on one list I have founded FRONT one for 5 gen. Ford Escort looks like the one from my parts car. In my parts dealer they have some for 12€... So I decided to buy them and try put it in my Justy...
There are just two things that need to be adjusted for use in Justy:
1. Distance between studs must be smaller and they are just M8 and Justy have some M10x1,25 or something like that... I am going to use standard M10 screw with self locking nut.
2. On one side you need to cut a small piece of outer ring (I post photo of it later...)
There is Compare photo of Original one and Ford one:
There is also height difference between them that I think can reduce negative camber a bit, that I have some 2° on all wheels... That is Art drawing of differences:
So first thing I have done is pop out studs:
Than I started adjusting holes with my new toy (Cordless multi-grinder). You need to reduce it by some 5mm...
And Cutting of piece of outer ring should be best do with bigger than little multi-grinder...
I'm still working on this so check this thread soon for some updates.
