When doing a front wheel bearing job, last time i replaced an axle it was nearly impossible to get the axle through the bearing. is there some trick to pulling the axle through those bearings? is there a tool people use? id rather not remove the axle AND hub from the car just to do 20 bucks worth of wheel bearings if i can avoid it.

as i recall i was replacing an axle last time i had it out. i really cant remember why the hell i had the axle out, but i swear it was for a new axle. anyways...i dont think i greased it but thats not a bad idea. go figure.

it is a really tight fit.
i use a stack of washers and pull it through with the nut.
then put the hub on and repeat...
takes a while.
