I'm new to forums so maybe this already exists on the site and I just haven't found it.
Is there a way to find users and groups that are local or nearby?
Understanding that privacy is key, giving out our whereabouts to strangers should be optional for every user. I get that.
Here's how I'd benefit from this: The car I have is in need of ____ (I seriously don't know) I'm working on it and things are going ok but whenever I ask my mechanic friends and family members about oddities under the hood they give me incorrect answers. i could write a book of all the times. ha ha As most of us are aware, Subarus are unique and require model specific knowledge to work with. I need somebody nearby with the same car to park next to mine so i can compare the engine bays. both this justy and my previous car 92 legacy i would discover wires connected that shouldn't, disconnected, cut and spliced wrong, parts broken physically (it's supposed to look like that), parts missing, and my BIGGEST nightmare of all, Vacuum flaws.
If we could just find other users nearby, life would be much easier for us all. Plus, meeting strangers is the first step to making friends.
SO PLEASE TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK. good idea? bad idea?
lastly,
I'm located in pierce county Washington. anybody have a fully functional 1988 or 1987 nearby?

Proboards is the host for this Forum. In their version programing previous to this one that you see now, there would be a spot that would display your location, birthdate, and gender. It has been removed from this version because the majority of the forums that proboards host are for role playing and I guess that people who do that do not want people knowing where they are. However if you are new as in, you joined within the last 6 months, your location will be displayed on your profile if someone goes and clicks on your handle or forum name.
Unless you do what you did and post a request for help in your area and state it you are not likely to have even your neighbor realize that you live so close to each other. There are not enough members on here to have even a gathering except for maybe on the north west coast like you are.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Makes sense that there's not the biggest group on here. The role play thing made me laugh. Anf I'm very new to forums. Just signed up today.
