Has anyone ever diagnosed a Justy maf? Mines a 1.2 injection but recently it seems to be running very rich and my last fuel calculation worked out to just over 28mpg when I normally get 33+. One thing I have noticed which is why I'm thinking maf is on a hot engine and giving it some, I can come to a stop and the revs drop to about 600rpm almost stalling it, and then shoot back to a normal 850/900. I've never noticed this before though and it seems to be doing it a lot in the last 2 weeks.
Anyone able to shed light? Cheers

Where did you find a MAF on a Justy...?

Is it not the sensor that goes into the back of the air box (only from memory)?
How is air metered on them?

I don't know of any Justy with a MAF. The EFI Justy's had a MAP, a small sensor located on the firewall in front of the passengers seat.
Are you sure you're not talking of a post-1994 "Justy"?

I found the map sensor, well what I think is the map. Vacuum pipe running to the firewall to a denso sensor. The thing I was on about sticks in the back of the air box. I had it out today but it only seems to be a plastic point, although thinking about it, that could be an air temp sensor if they have them? I'm going on guess work really as I have no manuals to relate to for the Justy. And mine is a 1994 1.2 efi 3 cylinder, not the later Suzuki fake.
With that in mind then, are there any other ideas about why it might be running rich? It has a stainless custom cat and straight through on it but has for the last 4 years so somethings changed that it doesn't like.

Any trouble codes?
Condition of the O2-sensor?

Don't know about trouble codes. I have nothing to read obd 1. And the lambda was another thought. Either the maf (or map now I've found out), or lambda.

Nope, I haven't had the light come on in years. It used to pop up randomly on very rare occasions. I'll take a proper look at the lambda and the wire to it at the weekend. It has had a previous wiring repair which seemingly was never sealed with tape from water or anything, just a crimp connection. Handy site though

Handy site though Do you get the light to come on when you just have the ignition on without starting the engine? General fault check if running rich: Try starting the car, let it get warm, then disconnect the thermo sensor on the cooling system, if there is NO difference, the water temp sensor for the ECU might be faulty. Try disconnecting the Lambda sensor, again, if there is no difference with a warm engine, it's probably faulty. Try disconnecting the MAP sensor, again, no difference, it's probably faulty. Try disconnecting the MAT sensor, same as above. The engine should be able to run with just the Magnetic trigger\crank possision sensor and throttle pot meter connected. It may go into "Limp mode" but you will at least get an indication where the problem is.

Cheers guys. It was almost definitely the lambda. I've owned the car nearly 5 years and have never touched much. The wire to the lambda had an open crimp and all the wires were shot so a new one is on and it's sorted. The coolant temp might spaz out though, especially with low coolant. I've got a water pump leak I've gotta get round to sorting.
