I have an 88 Justy. I have no power to start or turn on lights or anything. All of the fuses are good, even the 2 main fuses under the hood. The chime still goes off when I put my key in the ignition, but nothing happens when I turn the key to start it.

Sounds like a bad ignition switch. If you have a multimeter check to see that you have power going to the switch and that the switch is working. Are you sure the battery is good? If you flip the parking lite switch on the top of the steering column do the lights come on? -Dave

The battery is good. I don't seem to be getting power to the switch. The parking lights do come on, but no other lights.

Have you checked all the fuses. Have you checked for power at the harness plug in the steering column for the ignition switch. Also check for power coming out of that switch when the car is on acc and start positions.

All the fuses are good, but I noticed that the top two fuses on the right, which are ignition related fuses, are not getting power to the fuse panel. I'm wondering if they only get power once the key is turned on? If so, then my switch must be bad.

Maybe this will help. So I'd check the white wire going to the switch to see if you have power there. Also, it looks like you wouldn't be getting power to the fuse box if the switch is faulty.

Ok, you need to keep tracing that wire back until you find the problem, check it at those 2 connectors and the fuse box. It could be just a corroded connector, broken wire or even a loose connection in the fuse box.
On my parts car the previous owner had the bright idea of getting power by wrapping wire around the fuse contact and jamming it in the box. So when I removed the wire the car wouldn't start because the contacts in the box were bent.

At the battery the white wire goes thru a single pole connector, check it there.

I found it. Was a very bad connection of the white wire, under the dash. Thank you!
