So I took off my exhaust manifold the other day and noticed the pre-cat that bolts directly to the manifold was all broken up inside. I'm worried it'll fail emissions because of this so I'd like to get a new one. Does anyone know of anywhere online that sells them? Or of anyone who makes them aftermarket? Doing a google search comes up with a few things from a few manufactures, but the descriptions are bad, so I can't really tell if any of them will fit. My justys a 91 mpfi and I need a California legal cat

Try ebay. It isnt so much a CA legal cat, you just need a cat that works. You may not be able to get one delivered to a CA addy, so you know anyone out of state who will forward one to you?

Yeah, I live about an hour drive from Nevada. I have friends there I could ship it to and just go pick it up from, I've never heard of anyone doing this before and I'd be a bit skeptica of its ability to pass smog. I may have found one already anyway. If you know of anything that might work I'd still like to hear about it.

Good luck. I tried ordering several 49 state legal cats, but every place canceled the order.
I had the same problem as you. I ended up just hollowing out the cat. This made the car crazy loud and it didn't run as well. So I had a muffler shop weld a tube inside the cat to make it one continuous tube. Then I just put an aftermarket generic cat in-line just before the resonator under the car.
I passed CA smog...just barely.

Damn. I may just take it to a shop and see if I can get a custom manifold and exhaust built. I'm not sure if anywhere around here will do something that extreme though. I've never done any exhaust work before so I'm not sure what's involved in building a custom setup and still passing smog.

My Justy had 38,000 miles on it and the pipes rotted out. I ended up getting a universal (3 stage) cat as opposed to the pre cat and the 2 stage cat that came with the car. The car once warmed up runs squeeky clean.
