here in Quebec, is pretty hard to find an healthy 1987-9 car and even more if Its a justy.. I got really lucky to find a 95 not too ravaged by rust but my favorite model is definitely the first one with the square nose so I am planning on making a frontend conversion. is it an easy task.. I guess.. the car look quite the same except the nose but I might be wrong.. anyway I'll still give it a shot any advice? comments? got what I need? cheers

Anywho .. .. .. The 1st Gen front end will not fit on a 2 nd Gen. The frame is extended forward on the 89 and up Justy to make room for the wider Radiator. Sure the fenders appear to have the same lines but the upper portion has a different curve to it and will not match up with the rest of the car. so even though the fender would bolt on in the rear portion possibly, the front will be nowhere near close enough to bolt up. If you really want a first Gen go to the the N.W. United States and import one. Is that car of yours the shade of Lilac Blue that most of the 1995 were painted?

Dubawd Welcome to the forum, I'm in La belle province aussi, mais je suis un import (Onterrible)! The work would be big... I actually have gen 2 fenders on my gen 1, as I couldn't get gen 1 fenders. I cut them short, and beat them poorly to fit. As gearheadeh has mentioned the gen 1 is shorter from the the A pillar (front of door) to the front rad support. To fit the hood and fenders you would have to either cut out 3" of the whole front of the car or add 3" to the hood and fenders to make them longer. Also as mentioned the gen 2 is less "slab sided" and there is a slightly stronger convex curve to the whole body side. My fenders work... but it's noticeable, particularly where it meets the door. I agree, the square headlights look better , but it would be a massive undertaking, not to mention the roof line is different too! Matt
