Here is a pick of the back of the engine. Does this seal look correct. The machine shop gave it back to me with this installed.

i think that is the right way round? may be wrong though.
are you painting your rocker cover? i reckon a bright color like your engine stand with the subaru logo sanded back to bare metal and laquered would look great!
i think dunk has done this on his? i have seen it somewhere

Shouldn't matter, as long as they fit...they're both thermosensors I believe. My EFI Justy has three thermosensors atop the intake manifold. Nice pics Coal...I like the thermostat location on top of the engine for the carb cars, more accessible.

The engine is outside. The hoist I borrowed from a co-worker.

Before i get too far ahead of myself. I wanted to get my clutch all prepared. But the pressure plate included in the new clutch kit was a little off. Here is a pic of the old one on top of the new one. And the line up of parts that are going to be used/reused.

clearance is tight. The pulley kept hitting one of the brake lines. I just got the splines started. I will have to wait until weather gets better.

I had to get the hoist returned. I hope to make more progress next time I have some good weather. I am having a real tough time getting the engine to match up all the way with the tranny. This was much easier to remove then to install.

I like to post the pictures in segments so they dont make the pages super huge. I think 10 posts per page or somthing like that. I have also had some problems with my internet connection not cooperting when I load multiple pictures all at the same time. Today on photobucket it only loaded 71% I was trying to get only about 15 pictures loaded, I then had to go back in and reload. So I guess I like to load in moderation.
So, Stacks What are the chances the clutch fork looses the alignment with the bearing during this install? This is a small concern that I have
As for the rust on the valve cover I am not too worried about that. I have considered getting it powdercoated. In a previous post someone mentioned that and recomended orange and having letters sanded clen or masked off clean, I like that or red. But as of right now it is not in the budget.

Thank you. For anybody concerned the clutch kit I purchased was from rock auto. This was a clearance item, So thismight be the reason why.

wow alot of progress today you do know you can edit a post afterwards by simply hitting the edit button in the top right corner above the post than you arent making 20 posts at a time ps i would tape off the valve cocer and paint it other wise it's going to rust down there in portland with all the rain Justy "valve cocer" [sic] valve covers are made of plastic (Gen2) or aluminum (gen1) and do not rust.

This is all i have to say about aluminum not rusting!!! Aluminium does NOT Rust, they make steel cans as well.... try it, put a magnet against a selection of drinks cans. looking good Coal, when are you hoping to have her running? thanks for the pictures of the flywheel, not the news i was hoping for though! i have a spare one in the shed from an ECVT and i didnt think they were interchangable, now i know theyre not

I guess his post and pic pretty much speak for itself. Is his mother embarrassed?
