Am I correct in thinking the front diff uses the ECVT fluid? The FSM doesnt mention anything about the diff lube on the cvt, but at the same time it doesn't mention if it uses the ATF to lubricate it. I do not see a drain plug nor a dipstick and the diff doesnt look like it has any sort of belly to keep lubricant.

rancid fluid? sounds like it has a case of contamination, or possibly some bacteria in there.
if it just smells "burnt" then thats a trans issue, somethings slipping and creating heat causing the oil to burn..

Well he is almost road ready. i took him apart again because i didnt like my wiring (always a good sign), had to re re re route the cruise control.
When i got him the car sat parked for many years and all fluids were rancid. in all my years i have NEVER EVER smelled fuel that smelled so bad.
Mechnically all good except i could really use a air pump pipe.

I wonder if you have picked up that bacteria based bug that usually lives in diesel and turns it rancid and really smelly?
