1990 Justy refusing to start!!!! noticed that the Fuel Pump will run briefly when the ignition is switched on then stop. The pump runs well with an external source plugged into it so it must be OK. Is there some relay, fuse or other device that causes the Pump to stop or is the Pump stopping normal??

I am thinking that would be normal, I believe the pump would only run to bring the fuel pressure up, then stop.

Thanks Scoobaru. There doesn't appear to be any petrol getting to the Carb, fuel filter? but the filter next to the pump seems to operate ok when you blow through it even if it looks a little dark thru the plastic. Are there any other filters in the system that anyone knows about?

All OK now........... feel stupid, it was the condenser causing the problem.... The continuity meter indicated that the condenser was ok however after then precluding everything else I changed condensers over using the coil suppressor one, and away she went. The Spark had appeared weak initially and there was a caking type build up on the points both indicative of Condenser failure... needless to say the tester has now been put out to pasture
