I had this happen to a 91 and didn't catch it in time and blew the engine. It has been about 2000 miles since last oil change and you could smell the fuel in the oil when I changed it. I plan to keep an eye/nostril on the oil from this point forward and increase canges to every 1500 miles. Has anyone else ran across this? I am hoping for an easy fix like a bad oring or seal that is easily replaced. My daughter drives this one back and forth to college and we are hoping to milk another year or so out of it. Any insight will be appreciated.

This might need a tune up, new plugs wires cap and rotor, give it enough spark to burn it all of. As well the injectors might be tired and cause you to run too rich if they are leaking.
