I love my justy, but I'm tired of being deaf when I get out of the dang thing... I commute 35 miles each way for work, 30 of which is 70mph freeway so the engine is at like 3500rpm.
exhaust is in decent shape (for Justy exhaust) other than needing a hanger in front of the muffler, muffler rattles against the body, but that's not what's loud. the road noise is obnoxious even with the tiny bald tires. The engine itself is also noisy since it's spinning so fast.
anyone have any tips on getting it quieter short of stocking up on ear plugs or getting myself some shooting muffs?

www.dynamatstore.com/you can find the stuff at any stereo place. Gets pricey if you get a lot but it works really really well. Or you can go to any parts place and buy the spray on sound deadening stuff too.

that's a lot of $$ for a $300 car... came to the realization the other day that driving 3mph slower is a large drop in noise... so I'm going to give that a try for a while . Should decrease fuel consumption also.

Two other brands of sound deadening are eDead and FatMat. These brands are sold by the foot, and are a good bit cheaper than dynamat. I put some eDead on the back wall of my Toyota pickup and it made a big difference; the car is quieter now and a lot less "tinny" feeling. www.edesignaudio.com/index.php?cPath=1_24www.fatmat.com/
