The Justy's never used a vacuum pump, this is typically found on diesel engines, because they do not produce any vacuum. Your monster should be producing 20-25 lbs of vacuum at idle. Could you maybe explain what you're trying to do a little better, or possibly put up some pictures?

That mechanism is a vacuum actuator that engages and dis-engages the 4wd. It's necessary if you want to keep the 4 wheel drive function.

my God... i thought was an useless mechanism a question: i want change ecu into probably Megasquirt.... is it possible engage and dis-engage normally the 4wd after this change? It should work just fine. The orange push button on your shifter controls a solenoid usually located just above the alternator. This solenoid directs manifold vacuum to the vacuum actuator on your transmission which engages the 4wd. Pretty simple and reliable system.
