Hello all, me again. I took your advice and rechecked the base timing for my car. According to subaru they are dead on. I'm wondering if it's possible for the timing advance in the distributor could be jammed or seized on all the time. I'm noticing that above roughly 4000 rpm, the engine bogs out badly under load. Compression isn't a problem, so I'm wondering if maybe my distributor is causing all my problems somehow. Please correct me if I'm wrong because I have absolutely no experiance in 3 cyl engines. Also in other parts of the forum, I noticed something about an ECU in the justy? If so could someone please explain exactly what it does for the car?

I sold my old Justy, 1988, to a neighbor. He insisted on changing plugs & workign on it. It had NEW plugs/wires when he bought it. He had problems & stopped me [ AAARRGGHH] to help him. He had crossed plugs wires, [ check yours] & a vacuum line far behind carb was knocked loose. ECU is computer which controls functions of engines. Is your " check engine lite" on??
