This is what I did to my stock 91 justy. It is road/water legal. The water propulsion is a 550cc Kawasaki engine and jet out of a jet-ski. Attachments:

Did I see this on YouTube ages ago? Can you post any pictures of the project or what the car looks like now; a little more detail about the project? Can you put the top up? Where are you located?
Welcome to the forum.

This is pretty much what I'm doing with some differences. Firstly I'm using an 87 FWD at 600kg, Which is noticably lighter than the 1990+ models which had crumple zones as part of the design. Then add a 4WD front diff/trans unit and drive shaft, run back to a Berkeley 6JC Jet unit (these were designed for 12-14' tin boats and also used in old Polaris 3 seat wet bikes) with a stainless steel impeller which will take 70-80hp. Full roof and back hatch with polycarb replacing glass were possable. Fully opening doors with neumatic seals(made by sliding hollow silicon tube down the standard door seals and pumping up, This has yet to be made to work, so fingers are crossed on this one. Tin sheet hull welded to body underneith right to front valance. Fully sealed engine compartment with air seals and bonet pins. Battery and radiator mounted in the back in an enclosed compatment (loose luggage space here *shrugs) with air dicting running up both C Pillars through the roof into hollowed out "RS" style spoiler for air in and out. Ventilation for the engine compartment will also be ducted through here with an inline fan. Exaust will be fully thermal wrapped to reduce the volume of ventilation air needed, and will also be run up through the C Pillar and out the side of the spoiler. The front bumper will be lengthened buy and inch or two, although, I was sitting and contemplating problems while I looked at the car sitting in the drive waiting on the first tool to be used on it, When I decided the stock bumper is bloody awefull. So I might just make a new one, a little longer for added bouyancy. The doors will be panel sealed on the inside as well, and window washer pumps placed in the bottom or each with manual dash switch in case rough water is encountered (dick head boaties with no brains) The only real problem I have yet to solve is effective sealing of the front axles. But have a few ideas on that as well. I'll know better when I have the car on the rotating chassis cradle I also have to build. Will make plans of that if anyone is interested.
The main goal here is to have a usable everyday driver '87 Justy That looks like exactly that, unless you look real close.
Because I'm going to be videoing the faces of all the boaties jamming up the boat ramps as I drive the shopping cart around there $50k boats, down the ramp and barge off into the distance.
