just bought a 1992 justy 4x4 with the ecvt. I've never owned one and nknow nothing about these little cars but the simple fact that they are supposed to be a blast to drive. here is my problem i just bought the car and it was jerking when i went to move it out of the last owners driveway and stoped moving. i knew about the problem before i bought it but i figured for $180 no rust, 90,000 orig k's that it was worth the risk. the clutch temmp light is on and beeps at me and wont turn off. the oil does not smell burned in anyway nor is there any metal in the oil. Am i going to be looking at replacing the tranny ? and if so would it be better to replace it with a std ? It is almost impos to find a replacment auto tranny around here but i have found a std. i know this is hard to answer with out seen the car yourselves but any advice would help. thanks guys and girls

If you do have to replace the transmission. I would definately put a 5-speed in over a ECVT, hands down. Better reliability, better fuel economy, Longevity and its more enjoyable to drive.
I've read on here about people putting in a "new" ECVT after their old one broke. And the "new" one broke after like 10,000 mi or something.
Anyways the justy I own was once a ECVT and someone swapped it along the way to a 5-speed. I am sure glad they did.
