Will someone with the factory service manual post the crankshaft main journal diameter specifications, please?
I'm in the middle of an inspection of a spare engine I'm rebuilding and am using the Chilton manual, which I don't entirely trust. They say mains are 1.6250-1.6290".
My mains are reading .0277" (1.6527") over the Chilton spec, but the bearings are Standards. WTF? The engine looks to have been rebuilt recently (fresh cylinder hone marks, "guarantee void if removed" metal token glued to the block).

JLantz, I am looking at a 1989 Justy factory service manual it states as follows: Main journal diameter: Standard bearing size (1) & (2) =Crankshaft journal OD finish size is (1.6525-1.6529 in)..this is you! Bearing size (0.0020 in) undersize= Crankshaft journal OD finish size is (1.6505-1.6510 in) Bearing size (0.0098 in) undersize= Crankshaft journal OD finish size is (1.6427- 1.6431 in) This is the info with a main bearing clearance of (0.0006-0.0017 in) Max is 0.0024 in... Hope this helps, Jim Will someone with the factory service manual post the crankshaft main journal diameter specifications, please?
