So one side of my Justy's battery hold down was rusted out from a battery leak somewhere in the distant past. The solution was a bungee cord, which did ok. I finally decided to set things straight. I used a random Flange Eye I had left over. Cut & ground out the rusted parts. Treated & painted. Drilled two holes in the inner fender, painted, put bolts through & loctited. Simple solution, works well. Yeah, the paint is a little funky (and not color matched!) from not letting the rust converter gel dry enough. I thought it was all set... But it's all hidden by the battery. So... It seems that the battery support sheetmetal is bolted to the inner fender down low & then glued to the inner fender higher up with body caulk. I'm not sure if there are any spot welds keeping you from unbolting the battery support from one car and bolting it into another. For me this simple solution worked great.
