I'm trying to figure our where to put a jack on the rocker seam to raise my 89 2dr FWD. The back quarter has an obvious reinforced protrusion for that purpose but the front is a head scratcher. Can someone please tell me where is the most solid point to raise the front? A picture would be most appreciated!

Try lifting under the front tow hook. Especially great for Justys that have rusted elsewhere. Works best with a floor jack or a scissor jack with a round top. Most scissor jacks wont get a safe hold on this point! Danimal

Thank you, Danimal. I appreciate the picture pointing out exactly where you're talking about!

Thanks Savar. I come from the days of seperate frames and bodies. I'm accustomed to solid rectangular steel framing to set my jack under. The rockers never made sense to me to use as a jacking points. This is one of the first places to weaken and rust once a car gets some years on it.

No, a boxer will not fit in a Justy.

ive always just gone straight below the middle engine mount(engine -transaxle) brace with great success. It´s not a heavyweight car anyway This is right on. From the front of my Justy I always jack using the engine cross member. It is very strong. From the rear I jack using the rear suspension sub-frame as it too is in the center of the vehicle (left/right). I support my Justy in the front with stands placed underneath the rails (all cars have these unibody or not) and in the rear. . . well that's another story. If I am able to work on the rear with the weels on the car then I use ramps. If I need to work on the rear with the wheels off of the car then I use stands very carefully located under the control arms as they would normally be under the same load or more anyhow.

I put them at the front strut bar where it goes into the frame (looked nice and beefy) and at the rear it was the cross member at the rear suspesion arms. I didnt trust the tow points as they looked to small. The factory manual says to use the jack pionts, but a dirt driveway (pavers under the stands) doesnt lend itself to a floor jack. i needed to use those jack points. nipper
