Hello there, Installed a used transmission about 1 month ago. Now vehicle will not go very far without losing power. Can not go up any sort of hill or incline. Barely able to go on flat surface. I pulled codes 14, 31, 43, and 44 off the transmiision. Not sure where to start or if this car is worth putting any more time and money into. Any thought?Suggestions? Thanks, Bob Disappointed in PA

14 - DS signal switch 31 - Accelerator pedal switch 43 - 44 FSM doesnt list those.
Sounds like they are simple issues. Adjust the gas pedal switch, and find out what is up with the DS switch.

Thanks, Bob Disappointed in PA Sorry to hear things aren't going so well for you. This sounds more like an engine issue than it does a transmission. Loss of power could be fuel related or even a plugged up catalytic converter. The codes you're getting shouldn't cause these kinds of problems. Are you getting any codes from the engine ECU? More details on the problems you're having would be great.

Nipper, What is the "DS Switch"? lso, Any specific adjustment for the accelerator switch? Justy 4x4, I have intermittent code 35 , code 43, and sometimes a code 62 and 63 on the engine side? Would any of these cause me not to have any power to go when the gas pedal is pressed? Any thought suggestions are helpful. Getting ready to put it on Craigslist if I cant figure it out. The DS switch (Drive Sport) is part of the transmission range switch which is located on the shifter.
Code 35 is canister purge control solenoid. 43 is the throttle position switch. 62 is electrical load signal (from headlights and rear defogger) 63 is blower fan switch.
The throttle switch problem could cause some issues but the rest really shouldn't.
I don't see how it could have all these odd electrical problems. You might want to pull the ECU and check for corroded electrical connectors. Also check for bad grounds.

Where did you find them so i can keep them for future reference. nipper

Code descriptions were found in a 1990 factory service manual.
