Wow!!! As an owner of a MKVI "Classic Mini" and a '93 Justy, I have to say this has been in my mind for quite some time. My 998cc keeps chugging along, but the lump in the Justy is so much more willing (progress for you huh). I bet the Mini would FLY with an EF12 under the bonnet. Very cool project.

Cheers guys, well i will be carrying on next week getting the frame in the car then i can add the engine, i just hope that getting an injection head is not going to put a stopper on the project or hold me up to long.
This will prob be under £999 when done, but its not what i am building this for, been there and done that last year lol

I have a Hakko 808 De-soldering tool for screw-ups/changes; You forgot to purchase flux cleaner. Makes the board that much nicer when you are done with it.

Make sure you read up carefully when building the Megasquirt. Particularily in the area of sequential fuel instructions. They require you to remove a number of un-needed components. Make sure to omit them from the initial building instructions so you save yourself the hassle of having to remove them later.

I can't think of a lot of trailing arm independent rear ends on this side of the pond... you might have more.
You could look at MR2 stuff, basically a strut type with a trailing link, came with decent brakes.
Gen II or III Toyota Supra... Decent brakes.
BMW 3 series stuff? (lots of those in the wreck yards here)
But then you need a beefy carrier at the diff for the suspension arm, and maybe that's why you want the trailing arm type set-up you posted.
Old Subies had torsion bar rear ends... but most came with drums (are you set on discs?) That would give a trailing arm, and a hub. You could build it up to put the spring where the shock mounted. I can't remember, did the GL era subies have a torsion bar or springs??? I think they had a trailing arm though, that would give you what you want with the option of discs.
Really, with you fabing skills, you could take any rear drive hub (or front drive for that matter!) and build it up on a trailing arm with a spherical lower joint. Then you wouldn't need to worry about suspension binding (working in separate arcs).
