OK i just got my 94 fuel injected motor in my 88 justy. All the wires are connected fuel lines correct checked everything. Im getting fuel pressure all the way up to the fuel injectors but it seems like the fuel injectors arent putting out anything, i pulled out the fuel injectors and cleaned them up, tried again and no luck. any ideas? the donor car ran fine we drove it around a bit before we pulled the motor out. but now i have nothing. anyone got any extra fuel injectors i can throw in there to see if thats the problem. any help would be appreciated thanks

humm....maybe the wirering is not 100% perfect ? have you change the computer ?
If they were working on the old car...those thing are usualy trouble free...and a 94 is not to old.. must be the wirering ?

injectors not getting power? pull the electrical connector for one of the plugs and hook a multimeter up to it... then try starting the car.... see if you get any reading.

Each fuel injector (3) should have a pair of wires going to it. One wire is the power wire that should show 12V any time the key is in the on or run position. The other wire is the ground wire that goes back to the computer. The computer controls the on/ off time of the injector by connecting and disconnecting the ground to the injector You must check the circuit for power and ground. As stated in an earlier post you could use a digital volt/ohm meter to check the circuit. If you do not have one you can use an unpowered test lamp used just to check computer controlled circuits. You can get this at any auto parts store. To check the power side of the circuit ..connect the alligator clip on the test lamp to a known good ground (Neg post on battery will work) disconnect the injector connector from the injector. Then turn the ignition key to the on position and touch each wire terminal with the tip of the test lamp. The lamp should light when you touch one wire and not light when you touch the other. If this happens you have verified power to the injector. To check the ground side is a bit more difficult.....Turn the key to the off position and disconnect the test lamp from the battery ground. Next, take a small push pin or small paper clip and slide it into the terminal which made the test lamp glow on the previous test. NOTE: do not damage or spread the terminal with the paper clip. Attach the alligator clip to the paper clip. Take the tip of the of the test lamp and touch it to the other terminal and hold it there. (Do not let the tip of the test lamp touch the paper clip or alligator clip, a short will result) Have a buddy crank the engine and observe the lamp. It should FLASH as the engine is turning over. If it does not...the computer is not grounding the injectors. As a result the injectors will not spray fuel. Also, you did not mention in your post if the car had spark to the plugs of not. Remember....No spark and no injector pulses usually = No crank signal to the computer (Bad crank sensor) or a bad computer. Sorry for the length of this but, I too have an 88 4wd Justy with a Fuel Injection conversion in it's future! Hope this helps, Keep us posted!

ok thanks for the help i wont get another chance to mess with it until wednesday but i will check everything mentioned here and hopefully find something to work with so i can go drive this thing around.

How about changing the fuel pump for one made for a fuel injected model? It is imbedded in the fuel tank and I do not know if it can fit in the trap hole under the rear bench of a 88 carb. justy. I know thought that it has a lot more pressure than the external carb. one (ar. 43 lbs against 6 or 7 lbs) according to some specs I read somewhere (where?...). I hope you wont have to change the tank though. cdion

you do need to change the Fuel Pump.
However you don't need to change the tank. My 1988 is running a fuel injected motor (which is also turboed), with the stock carbed tank. I just used a universal fuel injection fuel pump i got from NAPA. Seems to work well. but it's NOISEY
One other thing..you need to replace the metal fuel lines that run Inside the car. The carbed motor uses a 6MM (1/4") supply and return line.
The EFI motor uses an 8MM (5/16") Supply and return lines.
You WILL run into supply problems if you use the smaller lines

OK. pretty much everything on the car aside from the e brake handle, driver seat, suspension, and body are from the 94. i just cut the hole bigger to make room for the stuff on top of the tank, fuel lines have been changed out also noticed that when i put the motor in. i put the ecu in my brothers 91 fuel injected and it starts and runs fine. its getting spark, cause it will run when i spray starting fluid in it, just long enough to burn it off. One weird thing i noticed when i turn the key in the on position the purge control? makes a clicking noise like a turn signal almost. The one thing i can think of is i see on my brothers car some relays that are attached to the ac under the dash. i didnt keep the ac so im thinking maybe one of those relays are fuel injector related. havent gotten to mess with it much because of these hurricanes we seem to be having almost weekly. So i guess i have to hunt down those relays in my pile of justy i have outside. ill let you guys know if i find something
