In my battles with rust I've always just applied the etch primer right over the rust converter then top-coated. You have to treat ALL of the rust, which is my problem...every year I have to treat around the edges of previous treatments because I've missed some spots. I'm experimenting with rust encapsulator paints now...Bill Hirsch makes a good one. Amazing how much dirt and crud gets behind that reinforcement panel at the top of the front apron...I should really tear into mine deeply...but like you, I can't seem to find the time and the $$$ to do a real thorough job. I have to remove my rear bumper soon because I've noticed rust creeping up around the tail-lights...I know a good part of the unibody is rusted through there. Good luck Badshah!

Humm. Looks like the car took a leap of faith an landed hard on the one side. might need to chain it to the floor and use a jack or a portapower to line some things back up. Very cool teardown pics.
