hey,
will an automatic starter work on a manual transmission car if it was mounter in the automatics spot? I noticed that the manual mounts towards the firewall and the automatic towards the bumper on the benn housing. im wondering beyond length of wires will a starter for an automatic work on a manual transmission car?

I pulled a starter from a 2nd gen automatic and it worked in my first gen 5 speed. It recently crapped out though.

It was Hitachi from the junk yard. The one I got refurb from schucks so I dont know what brand. I think it is a Hitachi though.

where did you mount it? the stock place for a manual or did youi remove the plate and mount it where an automatic trans starter would sit?
