Before i get to the point i shall tell of a story.
For some reason im crusing along in my 1991 1.2 gLII ECVT 4WD JEM subaru justy, when boomf it just cuts out and im in the middle of a junction! and it sounds like the battery's dead shock horror! but im ok i start pushing it and a dude comes out to help from across the road and we manage to get it parked half up a curb and out of the way, as we walk off muterring about battrey's alternators and RAC vs AA, He notices the labels all over the car.
"Is that really 4WD???" he says
"Yup" i says with a grin on my face "Optional four-wheel drive, and guess what...it doesnt change gear"
"...you mean its automatic"
"O no no no, i mean it NEVER changes gear due to the Electronically controlled variable transmition" Grin gets bigger!
"WoW what make is it?"
He walks round to the back and see's the subaru sign
(at this point im all happy, even though my cars broken down, cause im making a 40 year old dude with his posh new car admire my 20 year old car)
"Man its like a little rally car!"
"yea its great fun off road, and accelerations great for a 1.2"
"shame it looks like a metro though ay?"
"....you what?"
"metro, you know, great car and all but everyone see's a box like metro "
"well i spose...but well...Thanks for your help goodbye!"
And as a result i want to wack on a completly new body thats all curvy and nice. But then i got thinking half the charm is the box shaped look, when i pull up next to these prats in there corsa's, its the reason they laugh then i pull miles ahead of them and its hilarious. Maybe if the justy looked awesome with a completely new body custom designed to look like a impretzle or something, it wouldnt be the same. Having said that im still willing to give it a go, so anyone got any ideas or already done something similar?
