Hello again. I know what the codes are supposed to mean. I've looked them up, but I was wondering from peoples' experience, does 23 mean that I probably need a new oxygen sensor? I cant imagine when it was changed last. As for the code 13, the plug that goes from my distributor has a loose needle and the torque from the motor seems to yank it around sometimes. I need to find a fix for it that isnt costly! Any takers on these two issues? Thanks! -Trevor

Good luck with 13 I don't think anyone on here has found a fix yet. I believe Stacks said if you figure it out you are the Justy Master. I think its a ghost code but there is a really cheap fix, Remove the bulb from the check engine light.

haha. I used to do that one. I have heard about the 13. Just to mention, the car didnt have any check engine light until that plug went funky. I really just wanted to hear what the 23 could possibly be. Or maybe I'll just replace the oxygen sensor... -t

For code 13, either the green and or white wires from the distributor harness are the issue. Really you want to replace the bad connector, but soldering in a bypass will hold up till you can find a replacement connector. I had to do this as well to my justy, I was able to salvage a bare connector (plastic without the pins) from the junk yard and re-pin my distributor (cost me 1$). Is the needle pin bent? (picture?) Or is the plastic housing broken (as mine was)? If it is the pin, then you should be able to bend it back to locking.
My manual has Code 23 as: "1988 and later models with Multi-Point Fuel Injection (including Legacy)" 23 = Air flow meter or circuit (exc. Justy); Pressure sensor (Justy) ?? I have not had to deal with this code ??

code 13:Well, it is the green wire. It pulls right out if it is coaxed. I definately ghetto rigged the whole thing with a zip tie, hahaha. Looks stupid but keeps the car from dying. As for the pin, it is strait. The little black rubber gasket-like piece that is in the connector is pulling right out, Im thinking that I can just apply heat and pressure to it at the right spot to "pin" it in its place. The connector is good, the metal piece from the motor mount broke off, so there is no support whatsoever. I'll get pics tomorrow. code 23: I thought it was the oxygen sensor, but your manual says pressure aye?!?! I wonder what pressure that is? I got to hook up an oil pressure gauge ASAP! Just in case. Where does everyone put the vacuum hose for it on a justy anywho? -Trevor

Your code 23 is for the pressure sensor or more commonly known as the "MAP" sensor (manifold absolute pressure). It is located just to the right of the windshield wiper motor on the firewall. Make sure it's plugged in and that the vacuum hose going to it from the intake plenum is good.
