I have had a lot going on lately so the project lost a little momentum, but Coal and I hit the yards yesterday and seeing his Justy rolling around got me re-motivated. Unfortunately the four '88's they had at the JY's have all been scrapped. The weather finally got nice enough for me to drag the engine from the house out to the shop, so I thought I would snap a few pics. I still have a lot I am going to do to the car (carb, grill, bumpers, brakes, & bearings) before I install the engine, but it is fully rebuilt and ready to go when that time comes.

That middle pic shows just(y) how small the motor really is, and when you think about it....even as small as the car is, it really does have to push a lot. I like it(giggles satanically)

good work ferox, its a nice looking engine. '' An opinion'' How about getting a first gen aluminum valve cover and polishing it? i dont have a problem with the plastic one, but thats a nice looking engine.
A lil question.........the ground cable/rope bolted on its side.....is it original or its a personal touch? never seen one so big....

Thanks Jintei and...That's what she said. Maybe you don't get the US version of The Office in Costa Rica, so that joke ain't so funny. The ground strap is a universal part, they conduct great and are very flexible. I have had ground wires eventually break on me without my knowing it so I use multiple ground straps now. They are usually $6-$8.
The valve cover is actually an aluminum one, but it was fairly ugly and would have required lots of polishing, so I painted it with semi-gloss epoxy wheel paint.

Thanks for the support. Sorry I have not responded to my own thread sooner. My time has been diverted elsewhere out of necessity. -what is the bracket above oil pump for? -why is 'hoisting clip' above water pump? The bracket is for the air suction manifold...the large pipe piece of the air injection system. And the hoisting clip is just an extra one I had that I bolted to the engine mount bracket. When I attached my engine to the hoist for the initial extraction from the car I hooked one end of the chain to the same engine mount bracket, so I thought...why not just put a picking-eye there.
