I am trying to get my 89 thru inspection but the car has some sort of wiring issue..... The car has brake and turn signals and headlamps but no running lamps, as in the lamps that are on at night. The switch on the top of the column works but the light switch does not. I replaced the multi function switch with a used one but it still won't work... The tail lamp fuse blows immediately and I had to replace every running lamp bulb in the car as they were all burnt. I traced the yellow and red and grey and white wire from the fuse but couldn't find any probs...
Anything to look for?

A loose connector somewhere?
Try testing leads with a multimeter. If you're chasing down electrical problems, a $20 multimeter sure is helpful.
Or at least a 12v testing light.
Good luck.
