Im new to the board and im in need of some quick help, Im the owner of a '91 4 door Justy FI automatic car. When i took it on trade it ran fine with alittle front end problems but nothing bad.. It ran just fine for about 2000mi but one day out of the blue the Battery light and brake light came on along with the clutch temp light when the Battery got too low. I canged the alternator and Battery along with new cable ends and still no luck.
The car will drive fine with a full battery but once it gets under 7v the tranney slips and wont stay engagued. Now today i started working on it again and found that if i run a Wire from the output post on the alternator over to the POS end of the battery it puts a load on the motor and seems to run Perfect. Even had the bad viberation it had before the Problem came around and the Battery light went off.
Seems that i solved the problem but im not sure Ive been troubleshooting this thing for for months now off and on and this is the close ive came so far but the Brake light is still on..
So what would the problem be? Maby something common? should i just bypass the factory harness that must be messed up somewhere and Make a stright replacement wire? Any Ideas? Dont mind me this is my first gas Powerd car, Always owned diesel. Thanks

Did you check the charge fuse? (: If it's good, do a continuity test on the stock harness. -Terry

Im with maynard, I had the exact same thing , i changed alternators, new battery etc but then i found that it was the plug he described, its round the back on the right if you are facing the radiator on most models, good luck!
