:-*Hi I,am new Just replaced cap, rotor & pick-up coil on my 88 justy and now it will not start. When trying to start the engine kicks back like the timing is too far advanced but does not change regardless where I place the distributor. Any ideas as what could be the problem?

Hi, Try checking that the spark plug wires are correctly routed, the numbering is on the distributor cap.

I wish it was that easy, I have checked the firing order several times. even tried rotating the leads on the capbut it is still the same.
Thanks

The engine would die after it warmed up and would not start untill cool down about an hour or so. I was told it was the coil igniter (or pick up coil) . I am located in Calgary Alberta, Canada

I had similar probs, and found the counter wights inside my distributer were worn. This mechanic did a bit of fancy welding on them and she was better than ever, good luck anyway
