I don't usually ask for help but Iam at an empass on the problem of having no spark. When I take the high tension lead off of the distributor and prop it up to check for spark, I do get 1 spark at the very beginning of cranking over but then no spark while it cranks over and over. After I wait for about a minute and try again ...again 1 spark at the beginning and then nothing. It is almost like there is a circuit breaker being tripped and then resetting!.So if there is a C.Breaker for the ign. where is it?.I have noticed that it seems that the quick connector for the distributor wires to the firewall has the wires switched from say 1990 to say a 1993 distributor!. In the connectors which do connect to each other....the green and the black wires are switched in position but the red and white still line up!.

Well, tonight after work I pulled off the distributor cap and watched the rotor turn merrily as the engine was cranked!. So that means that the camshaft drive belt is good. No loose wires anywhere, Any more ideas?.

Uhm. Sounds like the condenser (capacitor). I think it's on the coil. BTW what year is your car? EFI or carb? -Terry
