has anyone tried this? ive been looking at it the last couple of days and ive found a company that can provide pre-built units for less than $400 shipped to me in the uk. www.diyautotune.com/www.megasquirt.info/the only problem is i dont know enough about mechanics to know what the justy has or has not got to finish the job for example, which sensors? i know its got a lambda sensor, thats it!! is it the same thing as the o2 sensor? throttle psotion? crank position? vacuum? etc etc. it could be great fun to plug a laptop in on my lunch hour and have a play now and then for "economy mode" or "drink that fuel mode". talking of economy, i apparantly get 43 miles per gallon, 10 more than the book says, and i drive 4x4 with my foot down most the time!! so these chemicals i put in the petrol at every fill up actually work eh! ;D

I am building one now. I am finished with the power supply and the communications part, and now I need to build the stimulator. Lambda is the same as O2 sensor. Is your Justy already fuel injected? Or are you converting from carb like I do now? If it's already FI, all the sensors are there. You just need to wire them up to MS box. Get the relay box as well while you're at it. It makes installation much easier.

sweet! good luck with the build!! i'd love to hear how she works when done. i am fortunate to have the efi already, which i am now grateful for after what you just said! (i always have missed that carb growl...) so, the relay, is that the one you can buy at the same time as the ecu bits? on the www.diyautotune.com/ website you can buy it prebuilt, and get a load of extras at the same time, is it the one on this page? if it is i might just go for it!! gotta get a few other things done first though....... responsibilities booo

If you have a EFI car already then you will need an actual TPS . I ran one for 9 months on mine with a turbo and it did great. If you feel like you might be able to build the kit, do it. They are not that hard to build, and with the V3 board coming out it should get easier. And yes get the relay box, I didn't and it was a good amount more time consuming than with. Matt

whats a TPS? i know of it as a Transport Planning Statement (great job i have eh...) ive just had a look at the megasquirt II, its looking good. it will work out around £150 for the kit with relays and another cable, which is a billy bargain being in england! www.diyautotune.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=59i am quiet keen to build one now you mention it, i can have the satisfaction of building it myself, tuning it myself, getting the results by myself etc. they might not be good results mind...but if i do it i can be smug when she goes like a rocket (eventually )

TPS: throttle Position sensor
Yes, it is the relay box sold with the cable on the page. Also get the serial cable, and the display if you are not going to run it with a lpatop all the time. I'm planning on installing a serial LCd display for the vital info when I don't have my laptop or wish not to leave it in the car.

hmmm the display sounds good, not sure what the price is yet, so will have to check! is it easy to set up a TPS? can i get one off any car, ie; a ford 4 cylinder?
i bumped the justy on saturday....spun her 180 degrees on the road in the wet and bounced off the verge. she drives the same as before, but has more squeaks now so im not sure what to do with her. i will hopefully find out wednesday when the car goes in the garage for an inspection. hopefully shes good, mainly because ive spent hours destroying my donor car for parts and cleaned them all up, i dont want all that effort going to waste!! i think it might have been because i was in 4x4 and it was a tight corner, i also have a feeling it may be because i have a loose ati roll bar on the front? if you look at the car, its the one on the right. im not sure if the bracket is supposed to be firmly in place or not, it has a rubber bit on the otherside which i think is missing? can anyone post a picture to show me what it should look like so i can compare? i would post a pic of mine but ive never sussed out how to (maybe someone could explain in another thread?!). it was very weird as i wasnt driving hard, and she just suddenly let go. before i could sh*t myself i had stopped in a very very bad place!!! luckily i got away, but i tell you something, crashing in a justy is a scary thought when you know theres about one sheet of metal separating you from death - im just lucky there was no other vehicle around!!
anyway, if shes good to go i will be at ease to continue with my project....maybe less power now though

the results of the car are: its called the sub frame thats the bit snapped, and the rear wheel cylinders were leaking a bit, so that suggests to me thats the cause of the spin outs. it makes sense really as there would be incosistent braking balance and with a lack of stability in the anti roll helped it along with the wet....
there goes some of my plans down the drain for a while longer...if they are at all safe to do anyway...bugger
