So, my Justy is freaking out. There;s no other way to put it. No excess noises or anything, but last night I parked it, had some snow fall on it from the roof. Today I unburied it and I go to start it up, and it starts right up, and keeps going, and going and going. From the point of ignition the engine hits 8,000 RPMs without my foot on the gas, doesn't let up and white exhaust gushes out of the exhaust. Let it rest, tried again, and low and behold, it happens again, and again, and again. Any idea what the hell happened?

1st open the hood and look around either the carb or the intake if it's EFI and see if there is anything holding the throttle cable. If not the throttle cable being stuck then if you have EFI it might be the throttle postion sensor!.

I actually found it and fixed it. I had to do a ton of hunting and poking and prodding to find it, but apparently when it dropped to -5 this morning a vacuum tube froze, along with most of the engine. I put an electric blanket on the whole engine and warmed it up and started it up no problems. I was so freaked out about that.

if most of the engine froze i would check the block to make shure it's not cracked any where and change the anti freeze to a better contentration 75% anti/25% water change the anti freeze to a better contentration 75% anti/25% water[sic] Please do not do that. Experts and manufacturers agree that exceeding a 1:1 ratio (50/50) of antifreeze to water, will raise the freezing point! This is bad! www.gi.alaska.edu/ScienceForum/ASF6/680.html Once you exceed 60% antifreeze, you're doing way more harm than good. I had to chuckle about the block being cracked. Look, if you got your engine started and it ran, your block isn't cracked. If it were cracked, it would probably have lost its oil or coolant at an alarming rate. I would check for freeze plugs that may have popped most the way out. You could have a slow leak from a freeze plug that's bulged. Good luck! P.S. "shure" is a brand of microphone

I've given the engine a once over and had found a tiny hole in a vacuum line. Replaced that, and aside from that, I think the problem was just me not closing the hood all the way after changing the oil. I figured that's what I must have done and some ice and water must have gotten in. Anyways, it's running fine now, at least as well as it was prior.
