just bought a 1990 subaru justy ecvt that has been converted to 5spd manual i got it with out a starter motor and now i have fitted a new starter it it wont start unless i short the starter solenoid direct to the battery does any body have a wiring diagram they could scan for me to trace the ignition wiring

I just completed the ECVT to 5-speed conversion. You might want to check the ten pin connector that used to connect to the auto shifter. It is probably under the carpet on the passenger side. There are two wires in that connector that are larger than the rest, they are black with a yellow stripe. They have to be connected for the starter to engage when the key is turned.
