check your brake fluid level, i think the light also comes on to indicate low fluid level. not sure about the battery light.

Mine is on too. It's not the brake fluid either. I Just replaced the master cylinder. It was on before that and is still on. Was thinking it was just a bad switch/sensor. Anybody else?

This problem happened to me just a while ago. I installed more speakers into the hitch of the car, and while testing it, drained the battery a good bit. The battery light and e-brake light were on, dimmer though. If I pulled up the e-brake, the light would be much brighter. But what solved my problem was driving w/o stereo fans or wipers, and charging the battery up good. After that, the lights went off. Could have been wiring as well, maybe the car can detect wiring faults and for some reason mine fixed itself?

I think there was a Steven King movie about a car that fixed itself....

If you have problems with the electrical system, that Ligh will turn on.
Chek the Alternator, or the battery conections.

I don't really know whats up...I'm going to start with the basics hopefully that will get rid of it.!

Maybe its the sensor of the Hand Break (freno de mano),
When you release the hand break chk if the sensor came out like it should.

I had similar problem with the brake light. At first the blame was on the handbrake, then the low level of the brake fluid...no luck.It turned out to be a stuck float of the brake fluid level sensor. No light for a while...and on again.Float is moving,so what else? Well,on the cap of the container there is a rubber... thing... that has expanded and pressing the float down.Pushed it in and no problem since.

No DRL on the gen1, but the lights do turn off when you turn the key off, so the light switch on mine pretty much just stays on.
