Hey Everyone... Recently up here in Canada, it is starting to get cold at night and in the morning, my Justy wont start at all right now. The other morning, It wouldn't get close to turning over and then it finally kicked in and started after about 10mins of trying. Once I have it going in the morning there are no problems the rest of the day. But getting it going at first is really pissing me off. Any idea? Would a block heater help?
Thanks

When you say it wouldn't get close to turning over, you mean it was cranking slow? That shouldn't be an issue until you are getting well into the negative temperature range (-20). Don't think that you would get to that in Van even on a record cold day in the depths of winter, I doubt that anybody has block heaters out there. If it's cranking slow, I would say you need to look at your battery/alternator.

The power and lights come on fine. When I turn the key, i hear a slight buzzing noise as normal, but then it wont kick in and turn over.
There is just a pause, nothing is happening. This happened for a little bit the other day, but then it kicked in and turned over. I checked the fuses and they seem to be fine. I don't know what to do next.
Thanks.

It sounds bad, but your battery leads may be loose or corroded slightly. Mine does that in the dead of winter. Rotate the leads on the battery slightly, and it would start right up.

Brilliant! Before I shut the hood the last time I looked at it, I hit the leads with a wrench with anger and I didn't try to start it again after that. When I went outside again, I just tried to start the car and Bingo! Started right up. So I just cleaned off the leads which were a bit corroded, just like you said. Thanks a lot! Guys, i'm just glad I don't have to dish out any money.
God Bless you all my Justy Brothers! (And Sisters?)

Ok, I my troubles have started up again. I have just cleaned my leads with steel wool and rotated them. It Started up again after some more shifting and trying the car again. I drove it to the gas station, got some gas and then came home. I decided to see if the car would start again right after I shut it off and it wouldnt get the starter going.
Does this sound like I have a cracked wire or something else?

Check the whole length of the battery cables, and the connection on the other end. Another possibility may be the ignition switch.
