Hi all! Does anyone know if I can put 175/70/13's on my '89 Justy without modifying anything? It seems like there are a lot more choices in this size. Also what is a good all season street tire with decent traction? Thanks. Matt

175/70R13 tires fit very well. Your speedo will read slower than your actual speed so when freeway traveling, stay 5MPH under and you'll be OK. Here are some pictures of a Gen2 Justy I put 175/70R13 Toyo tires onto: These tires improve grip tremendously. There have been no issues with rubbing and the ability to make swift, tight turns in the wet without understeer, make this a worthy upgrade.

my only caution is that you make sure the car had 13 inch rims before hand. I've got 175 70 r13's on my gen 2 and there fine. A year ago I had a gen 1 project car on the side that normally had 12 inch rims. I put my 13's on it and they rubbed horribly when turning and going over any bumps.

Yeah but what kind of wheels were they and where are the rubs happening? If you just threw on brand-X wheels, your offset is probably too great and rubbing the rear tires on the trailing arm. Be specific when you nay-say.

When I put 175/70s on my Justy, they kept rubbing the rear arches (poss because they were Nissan wheels and the offset was wrong) and the steering was a lot heavier. The standard 165/65s can't be that hard to come by, can they?

My 155/80 R13's rub. I just had to remove the lower part of the fender in the rear and they were fine, unless you have someone in the back.
