4wd w/ FI. Identical to my car except for the roofrack. The engine runs but the brakes are seized... it was sitting idle for about a year.

OUTSTANDING ;D.....I have been looking for a FI Justy forever!!! I'm not picky..I just need a low mileage 4wd 5 speed car as a donor for an engine swap I'm planning...(Well..OK maybe I am picky!) My plan is to replace the carbed engine in my 88 4wd Justy with the FI engine and eventually turbo it. I know its been done before...But, I still want to give it a shot!! Congrats on your find.. you are one darn lucky guy!! ($50.00... JEEZZZZ the gods really smiled on you!!) I have 8 Justys right now (5 - 88s two of which are 4wd and 3 - 89s all fwd) all are carbed and all are 5 speeds. When it comes to Justys, I always have room for one more in the yard! Hopefully, the next one will be Fuel Injected! Good luck!

I have yet to see a carbed justy... or a 2 door one either. All I see are the 4wd GL's

The 2dr FWD gen 2 Justys seem to be the most common Justys around here. I've seen maybe 4 or 5 4dr cars here in the last 5 years and really only a handfull of FI cars. I think every 89 GL/DL FWD Justy has come to the south east to die. Just about every gen 2 Justy I find is an 89! I once found a 90..DL..Carbed....Hopes dashed once again for FI engine!! Here in Charlotte, NC you don't see many 4wd Justys. I was on a mission to find a 4wd gen 1 Justy for 2 years when I got lucky and found my 88 4wd GL in 1999. It had no rust, original paint, and a perfect interior. It even had A/C and the dealer installed cassette deck. It was owned by a guy who worked for Microsoft. He bought it new and drove it every day to work until the left rear hub bearing locked up and tore out the splines in the drum. I bought it for $300.00 and have been improving it ever since. Just another Justy story for the board....Anyone else???

Congrats on your new justy. The 14" wheels will slow down your acceleration but increase your top speed(which would be nice) Some have had trouble with the tires hitting the wheel wells. I have thought about going to a taller 13" tire (than the 65/65's) but the tires I have are practically new. I have a Chiltons service manual that I got for about $20. Also, I recently purchased the factory service manuals (3) for $86. They have it all, including the code numbers(my check engine light is on) I've considered offering them up to these good folks to defray my costs on these pups. Good luck and have fun.
