Why does my N-reg (UK) Justy look so much like a Suzuki swift? Does it want to be one. If it is like one, does that mean that I can whack Swift mods on?

Based on contractual arrangement, the Suzuki design was used to manufacture the 1996 and up Justy which was shipped mostly to the European markets. Suzuki and Subaru continue this arrangement The first ones were really rebadged Swifts and the new Justy is equiv. to a Suzuki Ignis.
Body panel mods for the Swift will fit the Justy of similar shapes with little or no modification. The engines, I think, are different but not 100% sure. The original idea was to continue to use Subaru engines but.... We don't have the newer Justy's here since the dealer explained that part of the arrangement prevents the cars from being imported to markets with strong Suzuki presence (and boy do we have a strong presence)..

Yes you probably could bolt on mods.
As far as I know the engines are different. The gearbox and drivetrain certainly is because the justy is 4wd and the swift isn't.

the subaru justy you have is built along side the suzuki swift at the suzuki magyar factory in hungary the engine and 4wd system is a suzuki item and the swift is available in both 3/5 door hatchback and 4 door saloon with 4wd in europe the only difference are the subaru badges and awd decals, usually the steering wheel is plain with no suzuki or subaru emblems any accessories for the magyar built suzuki swift will fit your justy
