Hey everyone! I've been browsing this forum a bit lately since I just picked up an '87 Justy GL. Here are some photos of the car: I plan on getting the car to the following state and then leaving it be for a while: I've read up on someone here cutting their springs and judging by the lack of after market support for these cars I will probably have do the same if I want to get the car lower. I just need to find a spare set first just in case things don't pan out the way I would like them to. I don't plan on putting much into this car as it's my daily driver while I get my other car where I want it to be. -Matt

Congrats on your new Justy! It looks very clean and well-taken care of. The white with black trim and tinted windows make it look sporty, and (although very 80's) the red trim on the bumpers makes the car look a little more upscale. How many miles are on it?
The odd thing about Justys is that they are basic economy cars, but there's a charm and mystique to them grows on you. Hence why we're all here, right?

Thanks for the welcome. I know exactly what you mean by the mystique. When I get in the car and drive it it's like nothing I've driven. It's so minimalistic yet a complete blast to drive. It's lacking in power and I couldn't care less.
The car has a smidgen over 55k miles on it.

WOW! Only 55k miles!? Hope you don't plan on getting another car soon because that Justy will last forever. It is spotless; someone obviously loved it.
You're right about it being minimalistic, while being a joy to drive. Not especially fast, but it reminds me of a go-kart. I had no intention of buying mine until I test drove it and couldn't help smiling the whole time. In all honesty, it has to be my favourite of all the cars I've ever owned. It gets so much attention and people are fascinated by it. I don't think I'll ever want to get rid of it.
You may end up feel the same way in the end, especially with one in such good condition!

Wow, that Justy looks very good! It looks just like mine except for a few details (frontgrill and interior)

Welcome, nice justy.....VERY VERY clean. Im the one who cut the springs. As long as you dont mind the ride go for it. I mean its cool when its smooth, but start hitting some bumps, dips, potholes, its gets ugly real fast. And to get it that low, yours gonna have to cut a LOT, which i dont recommend, i refused to cut anymore out of mine. Another problem you run into is tire rubbage and wat not. I had 155/80/13s which didnt rub, only on occassion. I took it down a tad more up front and now im running 175/50/13. Now there is plenty of room, and it handles like its on friggin RAILS!!! LITERALLY as long as there are no bumps-lol

^^ Thanks for the extra info. Now when you say bumpy, it is just a jarring bump of does the entire car flop around? I'm used to jarring bumps since installing the anti-lift kit on my Impreza a few years back along with a whole bunch of other harsh suspension/bushing upgrades. I want to find an extra set of springs before I go through with it, just in case I can't stand the ride. sucks the aftermarket for these cars is so lacking

the rear stays composed, its the front that loses it when you hit big dips or what not. Im just gonna do neon ground control coilovers up front and it should be fine. Im also gonna move up to a 195/45/14 and see how that does.

That is a really clean car. You are pretty lucky to have scored it.

Is that the one a gentleman from Indiana? was trying to sell for something like $3K on this board about 5 months ago ? Not quite 3K. Looking at the for sale thread on here he was looking to get 1900 for it in Sept since that's what he said he paid. I purchased it for 1200 back in Nov. The seller was a great guy (fellow member on rs25.com) and very patient with me arranging shipping. The car is definitely worth the 1200 to me especially with the low mileage and wear on it. Couldn't be happier with it!
