Hi all, nice to see a site about this car lol. It's my first car, it's been in the family for about 4 years. It's a 1996 Justy GX 1.3 5dr, this was the very first justy to arrive at the dealer where it's previous owner brought it from new. It was beleved to be from the first batch of the new style (swift-body, suzuki-built) justys imported to the UK, hence a slight leak in the passenger side. It's got 48,000 miles on the clock and before i got it, it was exactly like new - no mechanical or cosmetic problems at all. The previous owner was an elderly farmer, who used it to fetch the sunday paper, thats about it. My parents used it for the past 4 years, my father claims it's the best small car he has ever driven, due to the gutsy 1.3 engine and the all wheel drive system (albeit a suzuki motor, but still a good engine). Since ive got it, i've fitted Corbeau targa recliner racing seats, soon to include 5point harness the next upgrade is wider wheels, and i wish to add the rear spoiler from the suzuki swift sport model. Due to the leak, i decided to remove the front carpets, leading to a bit of a weight reduction. It goes like sh*t from a shovel pics: thanks! Russ

well Iam surprized.. i didn't realize that the rebaged Suzuki came in AWD. That is a very nice looking machine indeed!. I wonder how much if any of the drive train and diff. houseings are the same as the Gen2 justy.

indeed it is AWD, even though it's built in Suzuki's hugarian plant. It has fully independant wishbone suspension, and full-time AWD with a 'clever' center diff which sends 90% of the power to the front unless there is a loss of traction, so you don't get the huge power losses unlike some awd systems. But it's easy to get the centre diff lock up, just blasting it round a sharp corner will make it lock up, which is good, because it means increased grip in corners The drivetrain and diffs are stamped subaru, and the drivetrain is subaru designed ofc. To me, i see it as the best of both worlds - Exellent Subaru AWD drivetrain, with a sleek, sexy, and easily replaceable body. Swifts are very common in the UK and it's easy to get parts. I almost think it's more than just a 'rebadged Suzuki' with awd...
