So, I bought a Justy with plans of Rally. Problem is, I could only find one with an ECVT, and I was wondering if anyone had the parts needed to swap the tranny. It's a 92' if it makes any difference, I haven't really researched the difference in the years yet. I live in London Ontario, so if anyone in Ontario that doesn't live like super far that has what I need for sale, that would be terrific. Thanks. -Cam

Definitely best to have a donor car. I have not done this type of swap, but off the top of my head I would say you would probably need the tranny and wiring harness. And the easiest way to swap the wiring harness would be to swap both the engine bay harness and the dash harness (easiest done by swapping the whole dash out). Not sure if there is a difference in the harness between 2wd/4wd. And of course the shifter/linkage and clutch pedal/linkage would be required. As for years, I think for a 92 you would be good with anything from 89-95 for a donor.

I'm about ready for the swap on one of my cars. I strongly recommend a donor car or a replacement car. I'm not sure if I hit everything here but I'm sure it's the most complete list ever posted.
You need:
1) 5-speed Trans (Obviously) 2) Rear differential out of a 5-speed (Not so obvious but essential unless you want nothing but drifting on snow/loose and a loud bang when you hit dry or even wet pavement. 3) Gear lever and shift linkage (make sure you also have the valuum lines for the 4wd engagement, ECVT uses solenoid engagement instead of vac diaphragm as far as I know) 4) Make sure you have a clutch and FLYWHEEL!!! (Flywheels almost always stay with the motor not the trans. 5) Clutch pedal, cable, possibly pedal mount, also there is a bracket in the motor bay (a black one that bolts onto the firewall which also serves as a top tranny mount) you need that. 6) You may need the ECU and possibly the wireharness as well (if you don't like reading wire charts) I know there's a seperate trans computer for ECVT which uses information from additional sensors not present on 5-speed cars to calculate conditions and loads. Airbox may house additional sensors. I don't know yet. The ECVT is one of the most complex tranny computors I've ever seen, I printed a 60 page manual about it off alldata 7) You may require a clutch start switch or modify wiring from the neutral/park start safety switch existing. 8) Speedo Cables are different. (don't remember how) 9) ECVT brake pedal will have position sensors which will be unneeded other than the brake light switch. 10) The gauge cluster is also different
JUST DON'T DO IT...unless you find a good condition donor car.
The only reason I'm doing the swap is because I have all the parts ready to go and my best car, unfortunately has an ECVT in it. I can't complain though because it has 240,000km on it and the tranny's still fine.
