Greetings,
I purchased a 1988 Justy that was previously owned by members Easelyrdr and Certimafied. The engine was previously rebuilt and the crank bearings oversized but this engine did not last 10k before it began knocking. I was told by the previous owner that he believes the machine shop did not chamfer the oil galleys in the journals after grinding the crank.
Can someone please point me in the right direction in terms of sourcing a crankshaft or a short block?
I see that Dustys Justys has short blocks available for $900. Are there any other sources out there?
Thanks in advance!

Hey bud this forum is kind of dead. Facebook has a pretty active community. Dusty Justys is deader than JFK. I just fixed my front oil cover. Here's what happens even after fresh rebuilds. The oil pump is on a slotted gear, this gear turns the steel oil pump inside an aluminum housing. As the miles add up, that steel cuts a tornado V wear pattern inside the case. The oil pump rotor now wobbles inside this shaft and ur oil pump is no no longer pushing the oil as it should. Knock knock. I just had my front case fixed by a very good retired aerospace home machinist. It cost me 160 to get a brass bushing sized and fitted to the case to the exacting tolerances. You need a new oil pump cover, rotor, and circle thing. Took me 12 phone calls to even find someone capable of this repair. I'm going to make a post detailing the process and offer as a service. You see another of rebuilds but without doing this step, 5000 miles later and ur knocking. You also want to get ur rod big ends resized. Mine were 35000ths out of round from the knocking. Cost about 50 bucks at a machine shop here in Phoenix arizona.
