Thanks in advance for the add.
I know I have read varying opinions about how to pull the motor ie (with or without the 5 speed box). Here is my situation.
I have a 88 4x4 justy 5 speed i bought with a hole in the block. It was a bit harder to source a motor that I thought but I lucked out and found a donor car same year and color but FWD it is running and driving. Obviously I want the motor swapped into my 4x4. Any tips will be helpful. I have engine hoist and most the tools of a DIY backyard mechanic.

So like almost every one had said. PULL THE MOTOR WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I tried to just pull the motor out because that's just the stuff I do, Have to learn the hard way. Maybe if i popped the axles loose i could have jacked the transmission up enough to slide the motor off But setting them on the ground and sliding them apart was a piece of cake.
