Very nice, Christmas Pressie?! Merry christmas Anyway, true dedication being on here when the turkey is out on the table!!
do you think the stock oil pump will be able to cope with the extra capacity?
what about the return? i was thinking of a tapping point welded to the sump?

I will be using a fuel pump from a R5GTT when i get round to it, need to turn the boost down to 4 psi tomorrow, not being used on the road for a while anyway so doesn't really matter Seems to run ok at the mo, only driven it once since i assembled this morning and seems to be fine with blow though. Seems fast enough, put my foot down in first not knowing what to expect, almost crashed into my dads lorry More testing tomorrow

Saving up some spacebucks to get a few needed suspension goods and get the #89 car a little bit painted. Weather? Long Island will be submerged soon with a little more Global Warming. These guys icerace.com/ are too depressed to even return emails! (and thats uuup there). I'm still waiting since last year to give it a real go with my changed out driveshaft and Blizzaks! Let it snow,

Is the carb you using the stock one? If so you had to adjust your air/fuel settings in the carb. I'm i correct?
Is here a picture or do you have one with the air and fuel regulators on the carb?
Thanks.
I'm expecting your new pics. ;D Looking very good! ;D

Dunk, Thanks for keeping this thread (a)live(ly). Blow-through turbo warning: I don't know what sort of floats the stock carb uses (Scoobaru, do you know?), but one has to be careful when running significant boost as the lack of equalized pressure in a standard carb can/will cause the floats to be crushed. Depending again on the carb and floats, newer plastic versions or filling of fragile floats with a bit of expansion foam can avoid this at low boost levels. The Renault turbo carbs, prepped Dellortos, and even a few SU versions like those found in the ERA classic minis, have a good number of pressure seals fitted, including the throttle shaft(s). Boost control? My favorite ghetto-fabulous set up was a web pic with a radiator neck fit inline with a 5-7 psi cap. Driver said it worked precisely to provide 6 psi and, sound-wise, was the envy of all the advanced mall racers running their $250 blow offs! Good Luck/Skill,

i sure someone has mensioned on here using foam filled floats? i dont know what this entails, presumably just a building supplies type expandable foam would do the trick

Not sure what you mean by type of float? I believe it is made out of a hard plastic.

I believe filling the floats just ensures the float wont collapse under the boost (as the float chamber is compressed). I don't know about the Justy float, but I know some are stamped brass soldered together.. the trick is to fill it with something lighter than gas. -Terry
