I recently repaired 2 justy's with parts from the same donor car.My regular drive to work justy had an issue with the pass. side rear hub splines being stripped.I also purchased a mint 1991 ecvt 4dr. hatch from a used car dealer. they thought it had a blown tranny, but it would drive in A.W.D.!.It also had a stripped front hub. So after reading about all the different problems regarding (pressing or pulling) axle's into hub carriers I came up with a new repair plan.Besides Iam cheap and like used parts. On the rear I took off the axle at the rear end, unbolted the hub carrier from the strut and suspention links, disconnected the brake lines and replaced my axle unit with this used unit. Granted it is a little tuffer getting the suspention bolts back in and bleeding brakes by yourself takes patience, but it all worked out.On the front I was lucky it was the right(passenger)side as it has an extra part to the driveshaft that is bolted to the engine.(Post 89 I presume). So here I unbolted the strut at the top, driveshaft off the tranny with 3 bolts off the engine, brake hose, lower ball joint and tierod end split off. Pry down on the lower a frame to clear lower ball joint or I would advise disconnecting the sway bar first, then 1 tug and out it comes. No roll pins to line up 180 degrees out, no axle threads to damage when installing axles etc.Hope I can post the 2 pics,1 shows the front part as an assembly and the other pic shows the car with all this stuff removed ready for installation.Iam sure this should cause some comments so let the flaming begin.By the way both cars are and have been working well since.I sold the white justy I purchased from the used car dealer at triple my investment.Seems there are folks who would like to own mint nice old justy's still.
By gearheadeh at 2007-12-09[
By gearheadeh at 2007-12-09/url] Maybe a moderator could trim up this image stuff as Iam still getting the hang of it. thanks
