Howdy. I just bought an '89 Justy - I'll be starting to work on it tomorrow to get it running (there's some kind of electrical problem...).
I was wondering if the 4wd light is supposed to come on when the car is not running? I'm hoping not b/c I can't get the car to start, so if the light should come on that means I bought a car that the 4wd drive doesn't work on. I hope not....!!
Thanx!

when the car is off, he put himself in 4wd, so when you start it, it should show the 4wd light until the car get back to 2wd. if the car dose not start, i dont think he will get back in 2wd!

the fwd is actuated by manifold vaccuum pressure - ie the car must be running - it sometimes takes a minute for the valve to switch - i suggest doing it in neutral or while moving slowly. - if you have problems, i suggest looking at another one of my posts on this topic near top of page laterz
